Autumn Equinox: Abundance and Gratitude

On the Autumn Equinox, the Earth experiences equal nighttime and daytime (like the Spring Equinox). During this time, you'll often notice a wave of fruit and vegetables being harvested and showing up in supermarkets (or even in your own garden). This is the time to celebrate abundance and express gratitude

The Autumn Equinox is an ideal time to reflect and focus on goals.

It is a time to honor what we've reaped from the earth. It is a time to celebrate nature and all it provides.

 ACCUMULATION RITUAL

This ritual is an opportunity to write down our thanks for what the earth gives us.

Tools and Supplies

  • Festive fall decorations for Harvest
  • Pen and Paper
  • Mason jar or empty coffee can with a lid
  • 1 (4- or 5 piece) bouquet of greenery and flowers
  • 1 Clear Quartz or yellow crystal- Yellow Agate, Citrine, Yellow Topaz or Tiger's Eye
  • 1 ounce dried sage

The Ritual

  • Using a pen and paper, write down a letter about all that you're thankful for. Think about everything you've accumulated thus far in your life and all the earth has given to you.
  • Place the letter in the jar along with the bouquet.
  • Place the Crystal in the jar and sprinkle sage on top saying "I am thankful for all that I have and blessed for all my experiences. It's time to look within and celebrate all that I've accumulated."
  • Cover the jar with its lid and thank the universe.
  • Bury the Capsule outside. If you'd like you can retrieve it and repeat the ritual the following year.

RELEASE RITUAL

The Autumn Equinox is a time to take stock of all that you have, both physically and spiritually, and to release what no longer serves you. This ritual will help you think about what it's time to let go of, as well as what might be holding you back.

Tools and Supplies

  • Festive fall decorations for Harvest
  • Tarot Deck, Oracle Deck, or other divination system
  • Journal and pen

Prior to the ritual you need to shower or bathe, visualizing all old or unwanted energies leaving your being.

The Ritual

  • Close your eyes and mediate for 5-10 minutes on your year thus far until you have a sense of what needs to be released.
  • Begin to shuffle your divination deck until you feel compelled to stop.
  • Fan out cards in front of you. Pull three cards and ask three questions: "Which area in my life is out of balance?", "What no longer serves me currently?", "How might I bring balance back to my life?"
  • Spend 5-10 minutes reflecting on the three cards, using them to help you interpret what you need to release. Use the Journal to take notes.
  • Thank the universe
